Chris joined Selcia in 2003 and was promoted to group leader in 2007. He is an expert in the synthesis of radiolabelled compounds, especially when prepared under GMP. After a period as deputy Chris was promoted to Director, Radiochemistry and Analytics in 2017.
Chris joined Selcia (then Scynexis Europe) in 2003 as a senior research scientist. As a group leader Chris developed considerable experience in conducting 14C GMP API projects for a variety customers resulting in his playing a key role in designing Selcia’s dedicated 14C GMP API suite. During his time as group leader Chris developed and implemented project management tools which monitor the progress and ensure on time delivery of all radiochemistry projects.
Prior to joining Selcia, Chris was a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at the University of Bristol working on projects involving incorporation of stable isotope labels in bridgedhead diamines for NMR studies and on studies of type II polyketide synthases involving preparation and in vitro study of enzyme bound analogues of intermediates in the biosynthesis of actinorhodin by Streptomyces coelicolor.
Chris has a BSc in chemistry with pharmacology and a PhD in organic chemistry both from the University of Southampton. He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and President of the UK division of the International Isotope Society.
